Troyisms

A little background: Troy calls all things sports 'Go Cubs' (even if it's not baseball). He also has this really cute "Gagone" that he does along with the 'all done' sign language sign. So last Sunday we were relaxing at home with our DQ. I was feeding Addison and Tim was catching up on the sports highlights on ESPN. After a little while of happily eating his ice cream, Troy looked over at Tim and said, "Gagone 'Go Cubs' Gagone". As serious as can be he was telling Tim he was tired of watching ESPN. It's a thing we've all said (or thought) with a sports fan in the house, but it's so much cuter when a 2 year old says it.

It has me thinking about some of his favorite things...

Favorite Foods: Grapes, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, cheese
Favorite Color: The first color he consistently knew was yellow. His spectrum has definitely expanded from there, but he still seems to like yellow.
Favorite Show(s): Cailou, Blues Clues, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
Favorite Activity: Playing outside. Pretty much from the minute he wakes up until the time he goes to bed he wants to play outside. He used to ask, "Shoes? Coat?" Then he figured out how to let himself outside. He would swing for hours if we let him.
Favorite Books: When the Leaf Blew In, I Love you Through and Through, The Mommy Book, The Daddy Book . He likes to read the same ones over and over every night.

And all of Troy's other little sayings and things he does. We call them Troyisms...
- For the past year or more he will use the American Sign Language when saying please, more, and all done.
- Similar to his obsession with the outdoors, he's obsessed with his "baby sista" asking for her from the minute he wakes up until he goes to bed. He loves to hold her, hug her, and kiss her.
- He has started saying "ummm" when trying to think of things right after you ask him a question.
- He often says "Welcome" instead of "Thank you"
- When you ask him if he's 2, a big boy, or any thing along those lines - his response is, "No, I'm Troy."
- Until recently he called himself "T"
- All sporting events are called "Go Cubs" and all balls are "Socca balls"
- Says 'push you', 'carry you', etc. when he means 'push me' or 'carry me'
- He loves to pull his back pack to school and will ask "hand?" when crossing the parking lot
- He has to buckles himself in to his car seat. Any thing else in the house with similar style buckles are almost always fastened by Troy at some point.
- Some cute Troy translations -- Mlalala = deodarant; Mlawa = water; Water-mi-mi = Watermelon; Elmo Bubbles = bath time
- Recently he's been asking "Coming?" if he wants to bring some thing or wants you to come with "Coming Mommy" "Cup Coming"
- He adores our neighbors (and Mama and Papa's too) and, yet, can be extremely shy at times too.
- WooWoos are body hair. He loves to point every one's out.
- When you repeat some thing he says to confirm you understood him correctly, he'll say "okay!" like it was your idea. E.g. - "Mo Gapes Peas" "Do you want more Grapes?" "Okay!"

And don't be fooled... even though she's only 3 months old, Addison has her own personality already.

- She loves to be called Princess or told she's pretty. It makes her smile every time.
- She's already a Cubs fan. She can't look away when ever they are on t.v.
- She prefers her fist over a pacifier
- She plays games with her sleep - she'll sleep 6 hours one night and then be up every 2 hours the next.
- When she gets really tired, she buries her head in your arm pit. She almost looks like she's rooting, and if she hadn't just eaten I would never know the difference.

There are so many other things that make the kids absolutely adorable, but I would be working on this post forever if I tried to include them all.

This post is so sweet. I need to keep better track of all the awesome things Jax does. I don't want to rush him, but I'm so excited for when he starts to talk and then he'll have his own list of "Jaxisms"
