Piggy Bank

Let me set the stage... we're in the basement doing laundry. Troy is very excited to find a penny. He LOVES putting money in the piggy bank right now. As we're getting ready to go upstairs, he says "No poop". Any time there is an unprompted declaration like that, it means just the opposite. So I pick him up to go upstairs and change him. As I'm wrapping up the diaper change he looks at me and says, "Where the penny go?" He was balancing it on his nose minutes before so I figured it rolled off and he couldn't find it. I responded, "I don't know. Where did the penny go?" With lips smacking he says, "Yummy" and points in his mouth. I do a quick sweep to make sure it's not still in there or stuck in his throat. I proceeded to ask him if he swallowed it, which he of course responded he did. I finish up the poopy diaper, get him dressed, and ask again. "Troy, where did the penny go?". In sweet toddler voice he says, "I ate it!" Yes, we have a human piggy bank on our hands. Tim and I have both told him several times since then that he's not to eat any more pennies. They're yucky. Hopefully that's the end of his unique savings methods.
