Big Boy Bed

Troy is doing very well in his new bedroom. The first night went off without a hitch. Tim had to read an extra book or 2, but then he curled up and went to sleep. Nap time the next day was far more interesting. Our first attempt at a nap failed, but I attributed that to the fact that he slept in until after 8 for the first time in months. A later nap proved successful. I read a book to him, we heard some stirring and then it was quiet. After almost 2.5 hours I went upstairs to check on him. It's not uncommon for him to take a 2-3 hour nap, but I was hoping to catch him "in the act" of sleeping in his new bed. I slowly openned the door and peaked in. He wasn't in his bed. Hmmm?! Just then I heard, "Hi Mommy!" from his sweet little voice. He must of crawled out of bed to play with some thing in his room. I openned the door the rest of the way... still nothing. Now the panic starts to set in. I spin around at the repeat of "Hi Mommy!" to find Troy walking out of the office with his blanket and pacifier. I don't know if he slept on the futon, or if he even slept at all. The fact that he escaped bed and his room doesn't surprise me all that much. The fact that he remembered his blanket and pacifier and then closed the door to cover up the evidence is hilarious!

Night time and naps have gone well since then. The room isn't finished yet, but he is enjoying his big boy bedroom so far. Once we add a few more touches I'll post some pictures. I just couldn't resist sharing that story.
