Hoppy Easter!!!

I know! I know! I've totally slacked on getting Addison's 11 month picture. It's not exactly for lack of trying. When ever I put her on the couch, she tries to scoot off making it impossible to get a picture. Tim held her in place this morning for a quick Easter picture with Troy...

It's not a great picture, but I'll try again tomorrow. I need to get one with her adorable headband on too. We'll see. We had a great Easter weekend. Tim was able to come home a little early on Friday and enjoy part of the afternoon with us. He and Troy took advantage of the nice weather and did a little "investigating" under the rocks.

They found worms, roly-poly bugs, grub worms, ants, and even a little toad. Troy thought this was amazing and rushed from rock to rock asking Daddy to pick up the "REALLY BIG" ones. Have I mentioned that Troy loves being outside and how much we are looking forward to the warmer summer weather?!

Saturday we celebrated my Guppie's 90th Birthday. She amazes me! I can't imagine being 90 and still getting around as well as she does. She's had a rough winter, but seems to be doing better now that the sun is out a little more. Troy couldn't wait to sing her Happy Birthday... and was quick to point out that I forgot the candles. LOL!

We rounded the weekend off with an Easter Egg hunt in our living room, church, and then lots of good food and great company at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Anna made the long drive over with her mom to share the day with us, along with Guppie, Grandma, and Grandpa. I forgot my camera, so I didn't get any pictures, but I'll try to get some from Anna and post them soon.

I hope every one had a wonderful Easter.

Take care and keep in touch!

More Giggles

There is nothing like a child's laughter to warm your heart.

Addison's first day on the baby swing...

Addison really liked it when Troy pushed her. I think this is going to be a wonderful summer!

We're here and having fun...

Life is always an adventure for us and we're loving every minute of it. Addison's scooting has gotten really fast and has even been modified to help her along. Now that she's mobile, she hates sitting still. Her and Troy play together a lot. It's a sight I love to see. I know it won't last forever, but for now I relish in their love for each other. Troy can't wait to rush up to her room when she wakes up for a nap and she's constantly looking to see where he is and what he's doing. Today he told me, "She's cute! I yuv her!" That melted my heart on the spot.

Troy seems like he is growing up over night. His stories are fabulous. I need to start writing them down. It's so cute to see him deep in thought. His memory is some thing to be cautious of. He forgets nothing. We certainly have to start watching what we say. This weekend he had his first concert for school. It was so cute. All the 2 year olds got up on stage to sing a bunch of songs they had learned. He's only part-time, so he didn't really 'sing' so much as cheer on the others. He stood on the blue line the whole time and clapped at the end of each song. I did manage to capture one song that he at least participated in a little...

Here's a picture of all of us (well, minus me since I'm taking the picture) before the concert started. They were running pictures of the kids on the video screens, which was really cool to see!

I don't know if he realized we were all there to see him or not, but it was a fun morning.

I'm going to try to get some of his funny sayings and stories in writing soon.

Take care and keep in touch!

Moving right along

I apologize for the long delay in pictures and posts. Work and the kids have been keeping us busy here. Things are about to get even busier... Addison is on the move. The day she turned 10 months old she figured out that she can scoot across the floor... not on her belly... on her butt!!! Yep, Addison has mastered what I am calling the "Butt-Scoot Boogie". It's amazing how quickly she can move too. It's totally changing the way we live around here. Papers are suddenly up high again (these are her favorite), Troy's toys are up off the floor, and the covers are back on the outlets. Of course, she wants any thing that Troy has. He does pretty well at sharing, but I know it's only going to get worse as she gets more mobile... especially when the couch is no longer a 'safe zone'. Here's some documentation of our fun:

Saved the best for last... Here it is... the "Butt-scoot Boogie"

HAPPY 3rd BIRTHDAY, Troy!!!

Three years ago our lives changed forever. The long weekend, and even longer Monday night, turned in to a bright shining moment the first time I held him in my arm. It was so much fun to see his little face (and BIG cone head).

Just for fun... here are a few pictures from his 1st and 2nd birthdays...

It's amazing how quickly he's changed. Here are some pictures of Troy's 3rd Birthday... Mickey style...

Troy got to open one gift first thing (note the pjs). He had to save the rest till his birthday party. This is VERY hard for a 3 year old, but he did great.

Troy's Mickey Cake, made with love by Mommy!

Next year we'll take the picture some place other than right in front of the patio door. This is the only one that was even close to turning out.

Black icing may be hard to tint, but it leaves a long lasting impact on your day. If you look closely in this picture of him opening gifts, you can see the nice black ring around his mouth.

Troy with Uncle Joe & Aunt Joan:

As always, lately, I didn't get nearly the number of pictures I should have. This is just a little snap shot of the great day we had. Tim and I are so proud of our little guy. It's crazy how quickly the past 3 years have flown by. This year seemed extra special as it's the first where I feel like he really "got it". He was so excited about today. He couldn't wait for "the kids" to come over and made sure we moved through each step of the day as quickly as possible - food, cake, presents, play. It was so funny (and I little sad) when he announced, "My birthday's over" with a frown. I hope he's not too disappoint when he wakes up tomorrow. I'm sure all the new gifts will be a good distraction!

9 Months Old

Addison turned 9 months old this weekend. I can't believe how quickly she is growing. Her personality is blooming. She is still a pretty laid back, but has found her voice. She can make her point quite clear when she wants some thing.

Her doctor told us some thing this afternoon that we already knew... "She's perfect!" She's now 19lbs.7oz (with clothes and shoes on) and 29.25" long.

We didn't forget about Addison...

She may be young, but her little personality is already shining through.

* Grandma has given her the nickname Lady Lip. She often sticks out her lower lip and studies you when she first sees you.
* She usually is content to sit back and study her surroundings when we go some place new.
* Once she warms up, she rarely stops smiling
* Her new favorite game is to sit in her exersaucer and spin and spin and spin...
* Troy is, by far, her favorite person. They can make each other laugh hysterically without even doing any thing funny.
* She HAS to have some thing she can feed herself when eating. We're lucky if we can sneak in a spoonful of food without her trying to snatch it
* Her foot, usually her left, never stops moving (even when eating)
* She plays this cute little game where she'll try to put whatever she is chewing on in your mouth too - pacifier, toy, even food some times.
* She pretty much HAS to have her foo-foo bunny with her to sleep. She'll have to find an alternate thing to sleep with if that ever gets destroyed because I recently looked it up on the internet and it sells for over $100 on e-bay.
* She can really cruise in her walker. She'll get going and then pick up her feet to coast
* She's got curly hair (but no teeth yet)
* Next to Troy, Billy is her favorite "toy"
* She has started babbling. I think "Dada" might be her first word

It's been so much fun to have both of them, and they get along so well. I'm wondering how long we can make this last. For now I'm enjoying every minute!
